| Curbside Recycling
Plymouth:
For a nominal fee, Plymouth residents have the option to have waste collection and curbside recycling provided by the city's street department. Each participating household is provided with a red 18 gallon recycling bin that is generally collected at the curb each week. Plymouth’s curbside recycling program accepts metal cans, glass bottles and jars, #1 and #2 plastic bottles and containers, and mixed paper with the exception of corrugated cardboard. In addition to these services, Plymouth also provides collection programs for yard waste, large item collection (in the spring), and leaf collection (in the fall). Plymouth residents may contact the Street Department at 936-2017 for more information.
LaPaz:
LaPaz has embarked on an innovative program that keeps down the cost of trash removal service, while increasing recycling participation and conserving natural resources at the same time. LaPaz residents are provided a green 18 gallon bin for recycling. Recyclables are collected each week and there is no limit on the amount of recyclables that may be set out for collection. Residents are limited to 96 gallons of trash each week. Residents with more than 96 gallons of trash must purchase a tag to be placed on each additional bag. Because larger volumes of trash cost more to collect, transport, and dispose of, this program helps to control overall costs and is more equitable for waste conservative households. LaPaz residents may contact the Clerk's Office at 784-3723 for more information.
Argos, Bourbon, & Bremen:
These communities have a contract with a private waste
hauler for trash and recycling services for Argos, Bourbon, and Bremen. Residents may contact
their respective Clerk's Offices for more information.
Culver:
Although no comprehensive curbside recycling programs are currently available in Culver, a few private waste haulers do offer an optional curbside recycling service for their subscription trash customers.
Unincorporated Marshall County:
Residents with subscription waste collection services are provided with regular trash as well as curbside recycling services. In Marshall County, private waste haulers are required to provide at least bi-weekly curbside recycling service as part of their basic waste service plans.
Drop-off Recycling
The drop-off recycling unit is located at the District's
problem waste collection center (1900 Walter Glaub Drive,
Plymouth). The service is available during the
facility's hours of operation. Call the Solid Waste
District at 935-8618 for more information.
It should be noted that materials should never be left outside any of these drop-off units and persons involved with trash dumping are subject to significant financial penalties. Questions regarding the recyclability of various materials can be directed to the solid waste district office.
